We had a pretty laid-back long weekend, with the kids home from school for Fall Break. It was a beautiful, warm weekend–the kind of weather that makes October one of my favorite months of the year. We took a little trip to a local pumpkin patch to stock up on our pumpkins to carve and decorate the porch.
The kids all found their own pumpkins and lugged them into the cart.
Haylie liked to sit on the pumpkins.
It didn’t take very long at all to find a pumpkin for each member of our family, so we loaded up the pumpkins (and kids) to get them weighed (the pumpkins, not the kids!) and get some fresh apple cider too.
Brandon’s goal was to find the biggest pumpkin. When we were getting it weighed, the guy told us that the day’s record for heaviest pumpkin was 25 pounds. You can see that Brandon’s pumpkin came in at a close second! So he proudly told everyone he saw that his pumpkin was the “second place world record pumpkin.”
We had a fun time!
Brandon found this little one that looked like it was smiling.
Here’s Annie posing with our brand new pumpkins on the porch. So cute. October feels more official now!
Later that night we headed to the drive-in and had a blast watching Toy Story 3 with Kirsten and her fam. The kids thought it was crazy fun to take out the seats in the van and pile in the pillows and blankets and watch the movie. We need to do that more often, fo sho.
Annie sadly has strep (for the 2nd time in a month, blah) so we are laying low today. At least we did some fun stuff before she got sick!
I LOVE FALL!!!!

That Last Picture of Annie, aw, so cute. Great to have you back in the blogging world. It wasn’t the same without you.
What a gorgeous October it has been. What a great way to enjoy it! Darling!!
What an awesome new bloggie you got here. I likey! I love all the pumpkin patch pics. Looks like you got some good ones. We still need to go get ours. Maybe one year we’ll make it out to the Big Red Barn. Looks very fun. So sad we missed the Drive-In. Sounds like a fabulous time, lets do it again. Hope Annie’s strep is short lived and not spread. Missin’ you!
