Anastasia’s Attic and Sassy Scoops

by Brooke on March 5, 2010

Several weeks ago I was invited to join the Sassy Scoops in their review of the darling shop Anastasia’s Attic in Gardner Village. I’ve gone with them on a review once before and had such a great time, so I jumped at the chance to be a “guest Sassy.” :)It was fun to meet new people, (especially people who like Arrested Development) plus it was fun to hang out with my sweet friend Quinn, who I don’t get to hang out with enough. :) She’s fabulous.

Anastastia’s Attic was like entering a different world as soon as I walked in the door. It is warm and cozy and full of nooks that you can’t wait to explore. I was a little bit frazzled though because on the way there I nearly hit a DEER! This huge deer just jumped right in front of me on the road and luckily I was able to slam on my brakes (and nobody was behind me) but holy moly! It was not expected so I was a still a tiny bit shaken when I walked into the store. :) Crazy. But almost instantly I felt better because Tara, the owner, offered me Dove chocolates and fairy dust. :) I took a bunch of photos of the little nooks and displays that caught my eye.

I love these keys and I love the sparkling bokeh of the lights in the picture. :)
Anastasia’s Attic is a magical place–one that is infused with imagination, romance, and the notion that we are all queens and princesses. Each corner of the shop has a different theme, with jewelry galore, unique clothing, home decor, water features, and even its very own fairy glen. :) I could’ve explored for a long time. It made me feel like I really was inside a queen’s palace.!

You could truly tell that this place is beloved by its owner Tara, and those who work there. I invite you to go HERE to read Tara’s story and inspiration behind Anastasia’s Attic, it’s beautifully written.
I really loved the silver bracelets. Those thin ones have different messages on them, such as “Believe” (that’s the one I chose) and “Expect Miracles” and they are less than $5. One of my favorite finds!

I loved this ABC plaque.

She also has old fashioned quill and ink sets and french inspired lotions and soaps. I felt as if I were in a different era! It was a wonderful escape! :)

I wanted to take lots of jewelry home with me. There was such a great variety, something for everyone. Affordable prices as well.
This was another one of my favorite things there. :) I also loved these beautiful tin magnet boards, unique from any that I’ve seen before. Those little fleur-de-lis were magnets. Such amazing little details.

I like these next 2 photos, because one focuses on the intricate mirror, while the other focuses on the reflection….of Tara! :)
My daughters would love this “fairy glen.” There were fairies large and small, and even a special “Fairy Trap” to catch little fairies in your home. :)

Bye, Tara! It was so much fun to spend an hour at Anastasia’s Attic, a place that I’ve always wanted to check out whenever I’ve been to Gardner Village. I’ve already been back since for some gifts for some friends (and for me!) and will definitely visit more.

Tara generously gave us a credit in her shop, which I used to buy this beautiful, dainty little mini cupcake stand. I decided to use it for my bracelets up in my bedroom. :) I love it!

Something I went back and purchased was this “Bee Bar” which is awesome. It contains natural oils and emollients such as shea butter, jojoba, beeswax, lanolin, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, and Vit. E. You rub it in your hands and your body heat melts it a little bit, allowing it to spread on your hands, feet, elbows, etc. I loved it! My hands are so cracky and dry from the winter, and it immediately made them feel so much better, plus it lasted for a long time and was not greasy. It has a permanent residence in my purse now. :)
So if you’re in the neighborhood, definitely check out Anastasia’s Attic at Gardner Village. It’ll be your new favorite place, even if it’s just to get a little chocolate and fairy dust fix. 😉 Also, become a fan on Facebook for special deals and the inside scoop.

ETA: It’s awesome to support companies who like to give back. I just read on Facebook that Anastastia’s Attic is launching their new charity campaign called “Be the Beauty”, where they take on a new service project each month:

Through Be the Beauty, Anastasia’s Attic will partner with its customers, friends, and the community to create true and beautiful change by showing up in love and service to the world around us.
Each month, Anastasia’s Attic will organize and facilitate a specific service project, and will invite everyone to join with us in our commitment to “be the change we wish to see in the world.” Whether the need is at a local, state, national, or international level, we will do what we can here and now, and in so doing we will create a more beautiful world for everyone by giving the love of service.

This month they’re collecting hygiene kits for victims of the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile. Such an amazing thing! Makes me want to shop there even more. :) PLUS, as if that isn’t sweet enough, if you bring in a hygeine kit, they’ll give you a 30% coupon! WOW!!! Tara and crew are incredible.

Also, be sure to visit Sassy Scoops where you can learn more about different local businesses and get some great deals. Thanks for letting me come along! :)
