Yuummmmmy. I plucked this peach from my parents’ tree just last night. And now it is tucked gently into a homemade peach pie. Yep, I made PIES today!!!!!! It seems that all of my cousins and I have been in the mood to create and pass on the legacy that is my Grandma’s delicious peach pie recipe. Several of us have made it the last few weeks, I guess we’re all feeling domestic.
Anyway, I made PIES!!! I’m proud of me.
My friend brought over a sack of fresh peaches too, so I had plenty to work with. Annie was my helper. While waiting for the filling to reduce, Annie took care of her baby. ( I promise I do her hair, it just doesn’t STAY done.)
And Haylie kept busy giggling and playing and drooling and being dang cute. Speaking of cute, I kept telling Annie how cute she was today, and she kept saying “You are so cute too, Mommy!”
And here is the finish product. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.
While gazing upon the lovely fruit, I noticed a friend had hitched a ride into my kitchen in the peach bag!
Brandon was so excited to finally get a pet.
Sadly, just as he was getting ready to pronounce a name upon the bug, it opened its wings and flew away! He cried and I felt bad. But at least we have the picture and the memory, right??
Then I found a dandelion. I’m easily entertained and distracted.
It was a great day. And I made a homemade pie. Now, if only I knew how to sew that apron as I mentioned on the last post.
**Disclaimer. I did not make the piecrust. Marie Callendar did for me. I didn’t want to ruin anything.
**I am probably setting myself up for failure, but I am going to try to blog every day this week!! Coming up soon on the adenda: Jaden’s big 30th birthday on Wednesday!

You sure are domesticed, Brookie! Your pies LOOK like they could win the blue ribbon at the state fair. I can’t believe that we’re all getting old enough to be 30! YIKES!
You’re awesome. I too, have a big bag of peaches on my counter. Yesterday I made peach jam . . . but I don’t think I have the motivation to do anything with the rest, so if you want to make more pies . . . . . .
It looks so yummy, Brooke! Grandma would be so proud! I hope you ate lots of pie. I love all your dandelion pictures. So cute! What are you doing for Jaden’s b-day??
That pie looks heavenly! And seriously, your kids are so flippin’ cute! Happy b-day to Jaden. Our families used to go out to Benihanas (buy one get one free birthday meals) together in September because there are so many of us Sept. babies. Good times.
Very impressive. And beautiful pictures as always.
Oh I love peaches! We usually get a great amount since our backyard neighbor has a tree with just a couple of limbs poking over into our yard. We certainly have to take advantage of them while we can! I made a peach cobbler this weekend that was yummy too.
Like Julie, I love the dandelion pictures. You are one talented woman!
Wow! Go you! I’m impressed at the homemade pie. I have yet to attempt a homemade fruit pie. It looks great.
Pretty pies, but even prettier dandelion pictures. Too cool. You are so creative.
Peaches for a Georgia girl, ain’t nothin’ better! That pie looks delish, and I bet it was! I’m getting ready to start sewing some aprons from a cute pattern I made recently. If you e-mail me with your address, I’ll send you one!
