Here are more pictures from our stay at the hospital. Overall I felt pretty well considering that I just experienced a major life event! 
The hospital was fairly relaxing once the nurses stopped checking my vitals so often and once my nausea and itching from the pain meds went away. I enjoyed getting to know Haylie and having visits from family and friends (I didn’t get pics of everyone, but that’s okay). It was still crazy to me that Haylie was already here! We all loved her so much already.
Her cute little bum fit right in the palm of my hand. Oh, and she had a yucky rash for the first few days, so sad! And even though I look like a puffy albino I had to get a few pics of me to prove I was there.

After a few days, things were going really well so I was able to go home early! It was kind of a surprise to be heading home Friday morning, but I was looking forward to getting settled there and seeing the kids again.
Daddy and one of his favorite girls. He has three favorite girls now!
It felt good to be back home, to have us all reunited! I said, let’s take a picture of the four of us. Brandon corrected me: “Mom, there are FIVE in our family now!”
{Brandon had circus day at preschool that day….thus the red cheeks!}

Daddy did her very first bath after everyone left–it was about 11:00 pm at this point. I watched from the bed and he did a very good job. I love it when the babies are all cleaned up. I was sick from the morphine (I always get nauseous after delivery) but was still so happy.

I missed Brandon and Annie while at the hospital. They came to visit for a bit and I loved watching how sweet and loving they were to Haylie. Brandon is already so protective of her.
Some favorite things the kids said:
Brandon: I can’t wait until Haylie can laugh. I will teach her how to laugh.
Annie: Wow, that’s a pretty dress, Mommy! (My hideous hospital gown!! HA!!)
Brandon: Are you going to wear it at home? (It’s probably the only thing that fits, sadly.)
Annie: That’s a cute bed, Mommy! (She was fascinated with the buttons on the bed.)
Annie: Is that a new watch? (my hospital bracelet)
Annie: Do you like that thing in your hand? (My IV…and NO, I didn’t like it!)

You’re kids looked so cute when the came to the hospital. Who dressed them and dolled up Annie’s hair? Todd sure has the kids looking mangled whenever he has to take care of them. After this weekend he remarked “I don’t know how you can get Abi to sit still to do her hair everyday, but she needs it done or she looks like this.” She looked raggedy.
I love that you captured those first days on camera. Your kids comments are cute. Congrats on becoming a family of 5!

What a lot of work to post so many pictures. Thanks. That was just the entertainment that I needed tonight. Yeah! I loved them all. Annie’s comments about all the new and beautiful things remind me of my little girl’s comments. “Mommy, you look like a princess with your mane hair.” This is the type of thing I hear when I wake up etc. Funny girls.

wow Brooke, she’s such a beautiful new-born. And I’m so sorry about the mastitis. My sister had it and I remember how incredibly sick she was. I’m glad you’re feeling much better now. You’ve had a rough go. You have a very beautiful Party of Five!!!

Wow, Brooke! Those photos are amazing!!! I loved reading about your kids reactions & what they said in the hospital. It made me really excited for our turn when my kiddos meet their new little baby, too. Love you tons & I look up to lots!
