Brandon informed me recently that he had changed his name. He is no longer just “Brandon.” He is now to be known as “Super Boy Brandon.” He told me that his name starts with an S now instead of a B. I think he was seriously wanting me to make the name change legal. Oh, and check out his new specs.
I’ve jotted down a little list of things he has said the past little while, things I don’t want to forget.
“She’s so wonderful.” (talking about the baby sister)
“Mom, you’re the best mom I’ve ever seen.” (Yes, he ACTUALLY said this! I wish I had recorded it on the video cam for proof.)
“You smell so good, especially your clothes.” (Brandon likes to smell my arms for some reason.)
“I need to get some shut-eye.”
“I had to get some squirt in my eye and it made my eyes foggy.” (after a trip to the eye dr.)
“When I lived with Jesus did you live in an apartment?”
“I had an imagination about that last night.” (an imagination=a dream)
“When I turn 5, I wonder what my voice will sound like. And I think my legs will get longer.”
(While playing hide and seek with Jaden) “Dad, count to ten then come find me. Look for me in the bathroom.”
“I’m sad about President Hinckley. I love him.”
When asked for name suggestions for baby sister: Babe, Joy, Lola, Halle, Avery (the last two are blatently copying Julie.)
A few weeks ago he called and invited Grandma Wendy, Grandpa Russ and Uncle Ty to his special “festival.” I don’t know what it exactly was all about, but it involved something he called a “swimming project.” He told them to bring their swimming suits and the party was going to be in our tub. Unfortunately nobody could make it that night, so we had to postpone until further notice.
While sick with the flu:
“My whole self hurts.”
“I have a tummy-egg.”
“I need to eat some orange peblets.” (aka children’s motrin chewable tablets)
“Watch out for my fro-ded-up-ped.” (aka don’t step in my pile of throw-up.)
“Mom, can you handle my drink for me? My hands are all floppy.”
This is one of my favorites:
“I might look like a young man, but I’m really just a kid.”
Brandon is eagerly counting the days until his 5th birthday in March. And we’ve started the kindergarten registration process! Yikes.
We love this boy! Always wondering what he’ll say next….
