….beastly devilishly grumpy the next moment. You know what I’m talking about.
So here are some cute and funny things she’s been saying and doing lately.
She loves to put on dress-ups and be a “pin-theth” aka princess. She also has loved playing in this long rubbermaid container lately. Seriously, who needs actual toys when you have boxes. Here she’s just having a leisurely read of one of her novels.
Oh, her prayers. Sometimes we try hard not to snort with laughter right in the middle. A few samples: “Fankful my apples. Fankful my pictures. Fankful my Brandon. Name of twyst (Christ), Amen.” She also loves being “fankful” for “Pwesident Eye-wing (Eyring), Uchtdorf(she actually says his name really well), Ink-wee (Hinckley), and Monson.” Usually in that order. We’ve been praying a lot lately because we are so righteous. Just kidding.
It’s just that everytime we say one prayer, like at bedtime, she wants EVERYONE to take their turn. And she does NOT like to be helped or have us offer suggestions. But usually it’s really sweet to hear her little prayer voice.
Speaking of which, she is trying so hard to exert her independence. “I do it! Don’t help me!” is a frequently heard phrase in our house.
She is good at letting me do her hair. I’m not very creative with it at all (I need girl-hair lessons) but she always says “I’m Rella!” or Cinderella when I’m done.
Things she says—She is a chatterbox:
“Tan I dit that? Why?” (when she sees any commercial on TV and I say no.)
“I’m not Yoo-Hoo! I’m just Annie!” (The kids call my grandma “Grandma Yoo-Hoo” and Annie thought we mistakenly had called HER Yoo-Hoo.)
“Tittle tittle!” (tickle tickle)
“Otay.” (I love this one.)
“Here’s my purse. These are my ‘feens’. And my ‘sumping’.” (My ‘things’ and ‘something’.)
“We’re playing fun.”
“Just tidding.” (Just kidding–she says this when someone asks her how old she it and she tells them “free!” then says “just tidding, I’m two!”)
“Don’t doe.” (Don’t go–says this at night when we leave her room.)
‘I want to play with my toys with Annie and Brandon in my room and be nice.”
“I are??” (Her reply when we say something like “You are a good girl!”)
“Oh, ree-wee?” (Oh, really?)
“Oh my dosh.”
“Tumpy and Tozy.” (Comfy and cozy.)
“My favorite Rella!” or “My favorite Daddy!”
“My Rella sotts.” (She has a pair of socks that have lace on them and they are her Cinderella socks apparently.)
“Dood Morning!” (Said every morning when she wakes up–she’s a happy waker-upper.)
When she’s excited, she dances around and says “Woo Hoo!”
Oh, I wrote this down the other day. This is exactly what she said:
“My house is peent (pink). And my roof is red. I have a washing-sheen (washing machine). I have babies and they sleep good.”
Annie loves her babies (she has like 10 of them) and sometimes I’ll find her with her wipes and actually changing their diapers. I love watching her be a little mommy as she feeds them in their highchair and puts them down for a nap in the cradle. She says “Sweet dreams” and then makes everyone leave the room and be quiet. Then 2 seconds later, “Baby’s awake!” so we can go back in.
Speaking of babies, she informed me a few weeks ago that “baby brother” is in her tummy. Interesting.
So that’s just a little snapshot of life with Annie, age two. She’s going to be a great big sister soon. I just hope that she doesn’t try to carry the new baby around by her neck like she does with her dollies….
We love Annie Jayne to pieces. In spite of her meltdowns.

So fun to read about her. She and Cambrie are so similar. I had to hide our baby wipes because Cambrie kept unloading 20 wipes at a time to clean her babies. She also wanders around the house in her princess dress. I love Annie’s prayers. So cute!
So dang cute!!! I am so afraid though…Avi is barily over 1 & already she sounds quite similar in the mood swings department! The fact she’s a RED HEAD doesn’t seem to help! Man girls are fun. Cheers to girlies!
What’s wrong with being a red-head??? I take major offense to that! Ha ha. That little Annie is such a cutie. There so much to love about 2 year old little girls – and plenty to NOT love so much too! Good job documenting, Brooke.
Sweet, sweet little Annie. Love her!
Isn’t this just such a fun age with little girls? I love it. I’ll have to be better at writing this stuff down, like you are, so that I can remember all of the funny things they say and do.
P.S. We should really get our two together–they sound like soul mates with princess dresses and emptying out rubbermaid containers to sit in…a favorite game at our house as well!
So adorable Brooke!!! I love that you wrote that all down too!! What a fun memory to have!
I love that she hangs out in the rubbermaid. Why not? I love her “feens” and “sumping” comment. Maybe we need to teach her “flipflops” & “lipstick”! Spit & all.
Ah, the independent ones… I have 2 of them! But I think they make life exciting! Just wait until she starts ‘nursing’ her babies!!! (That comes after you have yours, of course.)
You are so good at documenting all this stuff. Emery is still talking about what a great time she had with Annie.
What a cutie!!! I would LOVE to hear her talk!!
She is so cute! I love her prayers… we are going through that too… but I do snort and laugh.
So so cute. I love reading things the kids say. I just started making a list of things my boys are saying and I can’t wait to post it. YEA!!!
Hi, it’s Heather, Gina’s sister. You did that great photo shoot of my boys (which I have headlined on my blog)

Anyhow, I loved reading all the two-isms that your daughter is saying. My kiddos are: almost 4 and barely 1 so I am missing that stage! You brought back great memories. Also, I love to come and browse your blog even though I haven’t commented
gotta love the meltdowns! She looks so cute and cozy in her little tupperware! so cute!
