Big news: Our house went under contract this weekend–and we got a little bit above our asking price! We are relieved that it only took a few weeks on the market. It was kind of hard keeping it “show-worthy” with my two kiddos around, but it wasn’t horribly bad. It was nice having it so clean so often, though! We are scheduled to close on our new house August 27, and sign off our current one on Sept. 4th. So it looks like we’ll probably be moving over Labor Day weekend.
This is a busy busy time in our life!! Probably one of the busiest times in our marriage, with so much going on the next little while. I thought that selling a house and moving into a new one was enough of a major event, but add to that 2 big family vacations, a high school reunion that I’m in charge of (yuck), a brother going on a mission (temple, farewell, MTC, and all that fun stuff in the next 4 weeks!!!) and as well as some other things we have going on–plus the day to day living–some days I just feel like I’m simply trying to stay afloat! We’ll get through it all though, I know.
So I finally did another layout!! I used the 4th of July kit from GG Digital Designs plus the tied ribbon from Natalie Braxton at http://www.the-lilypad.com/. Oh, and the font is my mom’s handwriting! You can get it for free at the GGDigital website.
Here’s something random but funny. Brandon really likes the movie Napoleon Dynamite for some odd reason. I mean, we think it’s a funny movie, but what 4 year old likes it?!?!? Well, he was watching it tonight before bed and at the part where Kip is waiting at the bus stop to meet “Lafawnduh” Brandon had this funny little smile on his face. Then when the lovely Lafawnduh stepped off the bus, Brandon said “I love her so much. She is looking at me.”
I snorted, I was laughing so hard but trying to keep it in. Do I need to be concerned??
Here is a funny site that has soundbytes from Napoleon Dynamite. Just something random for you to enjoy. It’ll entertain you for……minutes.

Congrats on selling your house so quickly! That is fantastic timing to be closing on your new one so quickly too! Sorry for the pains of moving though! Also, love the 4th of July page…especially the bow around the picture! I’ll have to go to the website.
How exciting that your house sold! I bet that’s got to be a relief, especially with so many other MAJOR things going on right now. You’re going to deserve a big break & a nap once you get in your new house. A day at the beach in one of your new ‘bathing suits’ may be fitting!
Way cute 4th of July page. That is so hilarious about Brandon loving “Lafawnduh.” His first crush, how sweet!
Congrats on selling your house. That’s an awesome acomplishment 😉 Where are you moving to?
That is an AWESOME pic…he looks sooo cool 😉
I’m excited that your house is under contract. Yahoo! I can’t wait to see your new home. I love your 4th of July page. How cool to have your mom’s handwriting as a font! I’m totally going to make my mom do that. That’s funny about Brandon & the Napoleon Dynamite comment. I laughed out loud when I read it.
Congrats on selling your house!! I’m glad it went so quick!! I know out here in Cali the houses are staying on the markets for MONTHS. Bytheway, Caden, my 4 year old also LOVES watching Napoleon. His favorite is watching and copying his dance scene at the end.
