Hello out there! People have been getting mad at me because I haven’t blogged in awhile! I haven’t even posted at all in June. Oops! It has been a busy week! Lots to catch up on. And this will be a post very light on the pictures, my computer’s been giving me fits the last week.
I’ve decided that if there was a contest for the messiest house in the universe, MY HOUSE would take the grand prize. I can’t even bring myself to take a picture of the disaster areas, I think it would break my camera. Clothes seems to be mating and multiplying and replenishing and draping themselves over furniture and hanging out in laundry baskets all over the house. And hiding in the washing machine. I found the funniest blog one day that totally describes how I feel about laundry. Laundry Interrupted. However, I have cleaned up quite a bit today so I feel a little bit better about it all. The thing about cleaning the house is that I have little friends who follow after me and dump out everything I’ve just put away. Does this sound familiar to anyone?!?!? Alright, enough about my messy dwellings…..
We had a pretty good week. A few big accomplishments, in my book. The first one is that I took the kids to the swimming pool with a bunch of friends. Now doesn’t that sound like fun, not a big deal? Well, it’s the first time I’ve taken them to a public pool without Jaden or my mom or another adult to help with the kids. I just didn’t feel like chasing Annie one way and Brandon the other way, with my chubs flapping in the breeze. But they were good! We survived and had fun! We’re hoping to go back again this week. Oh, and I didn’t even take my camera. I just wanted to enjoy it all without worrying about drowning it or having my children drown while I tried to get the perfect shot. 😉
On Thursday, I did my very first paid photography gig. A wedding. CRAZY. Of all the days to get married, this poor couple chose June 7, 2007. A frigid rainy miserable day. I felt so bad for all of the brides!! It was fun though, especially after it stopped pouring rain. Maybe not fun for Katie to hobble around in her walking cast, trying to hold the umbrella over my head. I think we got some good shots, and I learned a lot. I’ll just post one right now, you can’t really see their faces and I don’t want to put their other pictures on my blog to protect their privacy.
Another accomplishment–I finally planted flowers in my front yard!!! Not quite finished, but at least I’ve started. I’m way behind, but oh well.
Other stuff and things: We had fun playing at Backyard Adventures with Amanda and we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Another cold, rainy day, so it was perfect to play on all these indoor playgrounds. Oh, and on Saturday (the 2nd), we went up to the mountains with the Carvers and Murrays and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. I’ll post those pictures later, I still need to sort them. I promise. On the days that haven’t been yucky, we’ve enjoyed playing outside and all that jazz. Oh, and my baby brother Ryan graduated from high school on the 31st–Yay Ry Ry!!!
Here is one layout I did today. My computer has been having issues so I haven’t been able to scrapbook or play with photos or anything. I got this title idea from Manda–thanks! It’s so true, too! It says, “Fresh from a trip to Grandma’s house, with empty bags of treats clutched in their cute, dirty little hands, Brandon and Annie fall fast asleep.” It was like 5:00 pm. Lovely.
Well, sorry about the lack of pictures and the lengthiness and possible boringness (is that a word!?!?) of this post. But I’m glad I’ve written stuff down. Later on I will post some pictures and write down some funny things the kids have said lately. Don’t want to forget!

Yes, I have missed your posts. I’m glad that you’re still alive. And trust me when I tell you that I would definitely give you a run for your money for that messiest house contest. Love the temple picture, I’m sure they are all very “beautesque” despite the yucky weather! Lets play soon!
It’s so good to have you back again! I’ve missed your posts too! And I love the layout!
I was wondering where you went- Hearing about your life and OBSESSING over your pictures has become a big part of my life. That wedding pic is amazing Brooke, you are really talented.
Yeah. My life can now continue. I have been holding my breath this long. Don’t make me do that again. It was painful!
